War Remnants Museum (28 Vo Van Tan, Ward 6, District 3, Ho Chi Minh City) – this museum documents the struggle of the local people against the U.S. military intervention of the country (from the mid-1960s to 1973).

This museum stores over 20,000 documents, exhibits and films, in which more than 1,500 documents, artifacts, films have been used for eight thematic exhibitions. In 35 years, the Museum has welcomed over 15 million visitors. Currently with about 500,000 visitors each year, the War Remnants Museum is one of the only cultural tourist sites to attract high public credibility at home and abroad. There are also as disturbing photographs about the traumatizing consequences of Agent Orange, napalm and phosphorus bombs – so, adult visitors should not bring young children to this museum.

Along with the exhibits inside the museum, its exterior also has outdoor displays – ranging from American remnants from its intervention (such as captured or abandoned warplanes, tanks and helicopters) to a French guillotine (used to execute militants who resisted French rule).

Admission: 40,000 VND (adults), 20,000 VND (seniors/disabled/students/war veterans). Hours: 7:30 am – 6:00 pm.
