Museum of Ho Chi Minh City (65 Lý Tự Trọng, District 1, Hồ Chí Minh City) – located within a neoclassical mansion built in 1885 (and once acting as the residence of the Governor of French Indochina, and the Supreme Court of the Republic of Vietnam), this museum showcases the history of this Vietnamese city, along with a number of local culture exhibits.

The museum contains displays and artifacts regarding important periods of communist history in Vietnam, as well as displays on such varied subjects as Buddhism, archeology, the economy and wedding ceremonies in Vietnam. Another section of the museum covers the anti-French resistance between 1930 and 1954 — highlighting how urban movements developed in Saigon as a response to French Colonial Rule, and the effect these movements had in destabilizing French colonial rule. Outside the building there are a couple of old American aircraft, as well as an American Tank and a Huey UH-1 Helicopter. Admission: 30,000 VND (per person), Hours: 7:30 am – 5:00 pm (daily).
